Priority booking for Harrod's Grotto

I've had an email to say priority booking has opened for Harrods Grotto. You need to have a reward card, but you just fill in a form for this online. There is a £10 booking fee, but I think they refund this to your card to spend in store. My DS doesn't want to go this year.....but then he is 19!

Had my email from Harrods yesterday - went straight to website to book and was put into a queue just to access the booking system. It took about 30 minutes from that point to get onto the website.
There were hardly any slots left, all the weekends were fully booked, most of the daytime slots were gone as well (apart from the 10am ones). We've had to make do with a 6.30pm slot 10 days before Christmas. Every other year there's never been a problem with availability and we usually go the weekend before Christmas (coincides with my son's birthday).
The booking system only opened on Tuesday (the day before I got my email). I feel really sorry for those who haven't got "priority" bookingThey have no chance unless Harrods make some more slots available.

Agree with you. I was holding out for my email yesterday before re-reading the website which said that emails would be sent between wednesday and friday. Mine came today and as far as I can see I got the only slot available which was early November. It was also a weekday evening. I think they're holding back slots for this new afternoon tea thing.
Might go elsewhere instead. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

I think that you're right. At £39 per adult and £20 per child (family of five with two adults plus £10 booking fee = a mere £148 for afternoon tea & meet Santa  - bet they don't upgrade the special gift either) they'll be coining it, at the expense of those who have been going regularly every year (and spending money there that they wouldn't normally). It's a shame.0
