Ive been given a Ipad through work and want to transfer all my ,PDFs ,word/Excel files on to it.Ive just tried a PDF and used iBooks to view it

1) Is there a all-in-one App that i can use to view PDFs,word, excel etc

2) On my Laptop ive grouped files/docs into Different Areas i visit IE:
London Folder = 2x PDF 3x Excel 10x word docs
Hampshire Folder 4x PDF 1X Excel 7x Word

Can i do this on the ipad or do all the PDFs get associated with 1 app and all the Word docs with another app??

Sorry im new to this ,ive had a iphone but only used it for Calls/text/photos and Browsing/FB

    PDF's are opened in iBooks.
You can get MS Word for iPad, but to do any more than view files you'll need an Office 365 subscription.
There are 3rd party apps available too, such as Documents U, which I haven't tried.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • go to the app store on your ipad and download the free WPS Office app. i'm sure that will do all you require from your description.
  • Pages, Numbers etc, the Apple equiv of the Microsoft products can all open the files.

If you are talking about viewing only then things like DropBox app have a built in viewer for all these types and enable you to have the file structure you want
  • adobe reader and office for ipad is now free on the app store.

If you use Cubby then you can have a folder on a PC whose contents are automatically transferred/synced to an iPad.

The doc types you mention above can all be viewed directly in Cubby, just not edited.

I use the Numbers app mentioned above on iPad/iPhone and for editing SIMPLE spreadsheets on the go it's a wonder. It has a couple of oddities due to the touch interface that you'll get used to.

Just stumbled across this commendation for WPS Office, free across lots of platforms apparently including IOS:

A free app that will edit all those file types? The reviews of the free iPad version are mixed but look promising.
