As an aside Bazmatti if you have an immersion tank then why not ask the council if they can install you an Immersun or similar device which diverts your excess PV load to your hot water tank?

You could maybe suggest meeting half the cost if you were going to be there long term?

Sorry for the hijack OP but its pleasing to see that councils are looking at ways to increase their income that benefits both their tenants and the taxpayer at large. Its a no brainer for them to install them on their housing and commercial stocks and generate inflation proof income for years to come whilst also lowering the occupants energy bills.

Hiya Chopper. I feel very much the same. The first big one I heard of was in Wrexham about 2 years ago, with around 3,000 homes. Sometimes the income is ring-fenced by the Council's/housing associations for re-investment in the housing.

I've lost track of the schemes, but there have been loads of big ones in the solar news so be interesting to know how many have been done in the country, and what percentage of the housing stock they represent.

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

Interesting side point, What if some Scottish councils do/have done this?
Should Scotland vote yes, what happens to the FiT?

Think I've read something on here about this but not sure?
4kWp, SSE, SolarEdge P300 optimisers & SE3500 Inverter, in occasionally sunny Corby, Northants.
Now with added Sunsynk 5kw hybrid ecco inverter & 15kWh Fogstar batteries. Oh Octopus Energy too.
