On Sunday 30 November 2014, Willemstad, the capital of Curaçao, one of the Dutch Caribbean islands, will host the first edition of the KLM Curaçao Marathon; the first on the island. The running event for people of all ages, and businesses will comprise a unique course as well as lots of musical support from start to finish. Participants in the KLM Curaçao Marathon can choose between various distances: 5 K (walk & run), 10 K (walk & run), a half marathon, a full marathon single and in duo, or a 15 K Trail. The event expects to welcome participants from all over the world.
COURSE

The event will follow a unique route. The starting point is the Lions Dive & Beach Resort. Participants in the half and full marathon will run along the Caribbean waters of Curaçao, over the famous Queen Emma pontoon bridge (‘swinging old lady’) , and over the Queen Juliana Bridge – the highest bridge in the Caribbean with a breathtaking view over hiastorical Willemstad. The well known “Handelskade” is also part of the route. And the finish is as you may expect…on the beach!
