Dear all,
I currently do not have sky, mainly because of the cost and dont think I would use it that much. I have been looking at options, to give me more channels, but at a sensible price.
The BT VISION looks ok..It sounds like you pay £30 for a freeview box, free installation and £9.99 for Setanta sports.
Think this gives you non live games but you pay extra for live premiership games and there is a pay per view film service. Is that right???
You need to have BT Broadband. Any Bt vision users out there?.Is it any good or are thee better options. I like watching football, films and things like 24 (Sky 1), but am not prepared to pay £35-£40.
Please help as I would appreciate advice before going with this option. Also if there is something better please shout..Unfortunately I do not have cable in my area.
Thanks for your help>

Get a freeview box then go to the pub/friends' house to watch football if you don't want to pay.
I have a similar service with Tiscali (use to be Homechoice) but it's only in the London area- £25 a month with broadband.
Unfortunately due to sky's licensing you do pay a lot for premiership games (which I don't have) and now don't get sky one.
I never watch the films as it's the same as blockbuster prices, I do find myself watching things like the history channel and national geographic, which I would have never watched before I had the choice.
Plus if you are watching tv now they claim you internet performance will decrease if you are using both at the same time.I'm not cynical I'm realistic

Your only other option is Virgin but you don't have cable.
I guess it depends on how often and what you watch? If football is your thing, it is a no brainer. Sky is expensive but it has the best football coverage. IMHO you don't get as much for your money with BT Vision.
Since moving I no longer get Sky + and that prompted me to cancel Sky. I find, I get all the TV I want Free to Air and on Digital.
There are quite a few free web sites where you can download or stream football."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

if you love your sport and films the best thing for you is bt vision because if you just want to watch sport get setanta and watch live football including the 46 live premiership games all european action live scottish football live aswell as much more live sport. just for 9.99 on bt vision. and if you love your films you can watch what u want watch when u want 2. films like goal 2 living the dream all new films out for such a low price and you can record so if i was u get bt vision plus you get your free to view channells aswell rember so i would get bt vision like me.0
