  • Also, it seems that for example HSBC is not offered through brokers - is that correct? Or is it residential mortgages only?

    Thank you!

    HSBC offers nothing through brokers.

You attractiveness to a lender for a BTL is based on;-

    loan to value
    rental income
property being in readily lettable condition.

A broker won't mention lenders he can't use and lenders who don't want your business.

What makes you think you would fit HSBC criteria?

  • I have no other options but to try and see if I can fit their criteria. Nobody really knows what they really are. Could I lose anything?

Does it affect the mortgage offers I already have?

Unless you can suggest another lender?

The broker is not offering anything else but Aldemore and I am not happy with their interest rate, the fact that it is variable and that they are so slow (not mentioning the fact that they wanted the most documents, including P60s, questions about addresses etc). If they are like that now, it can only get worse.

I don't know your case, so I can't suggest lenders.

You're going to have to contact the lender and ask the questions yourself. Make sure you meet all the criteria such as personal income, rental income v mortgage interest and loan to value.

  • Thank you! Do additional searches by other lenders can harm my other mortgage offers?

A large number of credit searches in a short space of time can be detrimental, but we don't know the impact on you as an individual as we do not have any great detail of you or your finances.
