Freezing plums for chutney?

Hi all,
Quick question... We have a lot of plums here we would like to turn into chutney but haven't really got the time to do it today.
Can I freeze these then defrost and make chutney? If so, do I just stone them then bag them for the freezer?
Thanks

I think you'd be ok to do that - I froze 25lb of greengages we were given, I halved and stoned them and just chucked them in the freezer, and made lovely jam with them some weeks later, when I had the time and energy (and had scrounged some jars from a friend
) to do it. Greengages are related to plums, so I think your plums for chutney would be fine frozen. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Thanks both. I did them yesterday so hope they will be ok. I did stone them as some were windfalls and in the previous lot I took a bite of one to find a wiggly caterpillar inside!!! Not so easy to find if they have been frozen and just had the stones slipped out...
Caterpillar and plum chutney anyone?
