Panels on garage roof?

Considering putting 4kw of PV panels on a new workshop /store roof where the panels would face about 220 degrees (SSW). Expect to pay about £6-7000 cash in London. Store will be linked to main house consumer unit by armoured cable via store’s own consumer unit.
We have a 1K 24/7 load here from various items.
Any thoughts from the panel?

I put solar panels on my asbestos (:p:p) garage roof about 5 years ago.
Inverter in garage & armoured cable to meter box in house.
Works well for me !!0 -

Any security worries? Guess the scrotes would not get much on resale?
Again TIA all0 -

If it's a new workshop/roof you could consider Solar PV roof tiles. Less obvious to a passer-by and possibly harder to steal but probably more expensive to start with. Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Ah?
e.g. the Solar Century lot?
OK - do you know how much more expensive e.g. per kilowatt?
And the roof of the garage we are rebuilding is going to be 15 degrees from vertical topped with roofing felt0 -
I think the tiles are more expensive and less efficient than the panels so I wouldn't go for them unless unobtrusiveness is the most important factor. I've seen quite a few panels on garage roofs so I can't see it being a problem unless you're in a particularly vandal prone location... Don't think theft is a significant problem as the prices have come down so much and one can't claim the FIT from secondhand panels.
With a 1kW continuous load, I expect you'd use much of your generation and therefore have an unusually high saving.Solar install June 2022, Bath
