Smelly washing machine.

Our washing machine is beginning to smell. I understand that it's due to mould infiltrating the drubber/plastic parts of the machine. We've changed the door seal but the smell seems to be lingering. Is there any way to get rid of the smell or is it a new machine?
Thanks

Vinegar in the drawer or soda crystals:female: INFP :female:0

Do you leave the door partially open when it not in use or do you close it?
Ours is left just open a little and we have no problem.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
To freshen it up, do a really hot wash (highest possible) and put a load of vinegar on the fabric conditioner drawer. Soda crystals in the washing powder section is good if you have some.
If you wash your clothes on a low temp all the time it helps to do this every now and again to clear it out.
You can use vinegar instead of fabric conditioner on a regular basis and this may help too.
I also agree with ariba10 about leaving the door ajar so it can really dry thoroughly.0 -
What type of washing powder do you use? My washing machine used to smell and I read that non-bio can make it do that, I changed to biological and it hasn't smelt since. I do wash most things at 60 deg which might be helping but I did that when using the non-bio as well!0
