Do CAPTCHAS put you off comping?

Generally,I support captchas as a means to prevent automated entries.
Surely it wouldn't be hard to introduce a system where having filled in one captcha on a site, subsequent captchas are suppressed for a short period of time or a set number of times so that having entered the first comp with a captcha, you can enter a few more without captchas.
The ones I find really annoying are those where the captcha times out after a few seconds barely giving you time to fill in the form, and those such as Waterstones where you fill in the captcha but if you use the address finder lower down the form it gives you a new captcha that you have to go back up and fill in.0
