Hey everyone.
Have a query and thought who better to ask than all you helpful peeps.
I have a phone on contract with orange and I am aslo booked in for my Bankruptcy hearing at the end of the month. I have about 2 months arrears on my phone bill. Does anyone know if I can cancel my contract and include it in my Bankruptcy?
Thanks in advance,

Ditto...I was £20 or so in arrears with O2 & this was included in my BR, they were a bit of a pain trying to convince me to stay firstly then trying to chase me for the money owed but after speaking to the OR on a few occasions it's fine now.We all die. I think I have posted this before but if you are on Orange and go BR and they find out they terminate your account forthwith. Its in the T&C.
If I was you I would, if you want to keep the number then ask them to port it over to a PAYG sim, if you don’t want the number then don’t!0 -
My OR told me that since I was in arrears with my contract it would be included in the BR. Effectively they take up all the legal rights a responsibilities for the contact into the BR estate.
However, if you are up to date with payments I was told that this would no longer be the case and you would be liable for the continuing contract (unless the phone company terminated it).
In other words, if you wish to dump the contract it is beat to be at least one month in arrears at the date of BR.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
