Starting a recruitment agency

Hi All,

I have been thinking about starting a recruitment agency for a while. I have worked in my industry for quite some time so have a great understanding of what clients would want. I have no experience in recruitment though, but am willing to learn and give it my all.

To start with, i will be doing this from home and will use contacts i already have, social media and a website.

Does anyone on here do similar or have any advice?

Thank you

I'm not sure that having experience in your chosen field would make you a good recruiter?

That would be like saying "i am good at computers, therefore i could sell them easily"?

BUT i guess theres a relatively low cost of entry to the business and you could try it part time or whilst keeping your current role (at least initially)

Knowing what sort of candidates someone will want certainly is an advantage but is only one part of the puzzle.

How will you find these candidates?
How will you keep track of things?
Do your potential clients have strict PSLs? If so how do you get on them?
    How much will you charge?
Are you dealing with perms, temp and contractors?
For non-perms do you have the infrastructure/ processes/ contracts etc for dealing with things like timesheeting and payments?

I've just recently moved in to recruitment and have been doing very well. The reason for this is that I had worked in the sector I am recruiting in for over 10 years.

There are a lot of recruiters out there who have no idea what the people they are recruiting actually do so this is a USP for you.
