I "think" it's a co-buy scheme, where you all have up to a certain date to express an interest in the item, and the price comes down according to how many people want it (there's a maximum discount stated at the start).

I managed to buy two gift vouchers and the use by dates are 15th and 22nd March 2015.
Each one cost me £15 and when the deal was closed they were worth £30 each.
