The mortgage guarantee H2B scheme is specifically NOT for new builds.
    Er... not quite true.

Halifax withdrew NewBuy last week and is offering HTB - MG via its newbuild panel.
From an email on 8 August;-

You may recall we wrote to you recently to announce changes to our new build policy. As a reminder, we will now accept:

    • New build flats (in addition to houses) up to 90% LTV
    • New build houses and flats on the Help to Buy Mortgage Guarantee scheme.

New products are available to selected builders only, details of whom can be found on the Halifax intermediaries website.

As mentioned in the post above, Halifax offer this mortgage but there is a list of brokers you have to use and also a list of builders.

Bellway are on there and so are the New Mortgage Helpline people.

To be honest, if we get the mortgage, I will happily pay £245.
    Currently waiting to hear back...

Bellway don't give you an option, you want the house, you pay the fee.

Not true, Bellway gave us the option to use their service but there was no obligation.
