unfair dismissal but was self employed

Options
I have been working for a company for 6 months, a friend got me the job and I was never given a contract, I was advised by the company to stay self employed as I had been previously and this would be better for me in the long run with tax which they would help me with. Now I have been sacked, to begin with they said it was because they could not afford to pay me, i lacked commitment and there had been an allegation that I had stolen money.
They have now said it was just because of my performance, however I do not believe them I don't know why I have been sack and I don't know if I have any legal rights to notice or reason without a contract. Please Help any advice appreciated.

If you have been self employed then you can't be sacked. The company has simply ceased to use your services. If there was no contract between you I don't think you will have any come back.

Even if you'd been employed, you'd have very little come back within the first two years of employment.

Had you been employed then you would have been entitled to notice unless you were sacked for Gross Misconduct. But as you accept that you were self employed, termination is dependent on the terms of the contract between you and the client, and without a contract you'd be unable to point at any term specifying what termination notice was required. Give it up and move on.
