Victoria plumb price difference

I was searching for a new vanity unit for my bathroom, and was having trouble finding what I wanted, as the better ones were all too expensive my budget was about £200. So I found this one:

lovely but £200 over my budget, then I found this one and it included a free waste as well!

Yep! its exactly the same item from the same company except the cheaper one has the addition of the free waste!


I phoned them to make sure this wasn't a mistake (had it in my basket ready if it was) and it isn't, when I asked them why the £200 difference for the same item they just said yes a lot of our items are priced like that, its because when people see it for just £199 they think it is cheap and wouldn't be good quality so they also price it at £399 and people think because its expensive it must be really good quality!


The mind boggles....so if your looking to get stuff from Victoria plumb just make sure you check there website thoroughly first and you might save quite a lot of money!

This isn't strictly true

The unit and basin is "advertised" at £399 in both cases, the one with the waste "included" (at cost of £15.99) is £414.99.

However ONLY the second item is currently included in one of their "Autumn Sale" (selected items with up to 50% OFF), Offers, Special Offers or other such sale with a saving of £215 making it just £199.99 at the moment

This second cheaper item is not part of the 50% autumn sale at all, if you look at sale items and then opt for furniture it isn't in their sale:
