Has anyone been to one of their meetings in Marbella (they offer to fly you out to Spain and give accommodation for 3 nights) where you meet an adviser who will assess if you have a claim and what it is worth. You give them 40% of the compensation claim they receive so they must be quite confident. No money upfront.
What was the outcome of the meeting?Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
You give Sherwood Marketing 40% of the compensation BEFORE you get the 60% balance................NO ONE has ever got the 60%..Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0

A warning about this might perhaps be useful on the Praise, Vents, Warnings Board?0

Hi,
When you say just no longer pay fees- is this based on your personal experience? Did you actually manage to get out of Diamonds this way?
I thought of doing this but it seems risky so I would welcome any 'experience' of this...0 -

Hi, it's been a few years now, but i indeed walked away and am now free of Diamond Resorts. Yes i had many letters requesting payments etc ever the threat of going to court. I had been made redundant so called their bluff. I said that having had only the one holiday with them and the fact that is was almost impossible to book somewhere that WE wanted and WHEN we wanted, i have no choice but to stop paying my fees. I also told them that we had payed 14,000 for our points, and for them to threaten us for more money was pointless as i don't have it. Also told them that if they took this to court then so be it. They don't want the publicity and nothing else became of it. I did get one final letter stating that as i was willing to relinquish my points then no further action would be taken. That was the last time i heard from them. However if i get hold of any info that allows me to claim anything back from them, due to the fact that they sell these points with so much pressure and fabrication, then i will be certain to try to get this money back.

Hi,
New here. I have been a member of DRI since 1994, through several of its iterations and after the fees going from circa £800 2016 to just over £1000 this year have decided to "opt out".
This and the last holiday we went on, when "they" tried to sell us more points for £10,000 after telling us that the number of points we owned would not get us anything worthwhile in the future.
Has anyone got a generic DRI get out letter or does anyone know where such a letter can be down loaded from.
Cheers0 -
Hi there
Is there such a letter? I also, am 'locked' in the DR vice. As you say fees have gone up by 12.5% this year & I also would like to get out but am reluctant to sign up to one of the countless cold calls/emails which promises to free me from this financial nightmare as I've heard they are largely expensive themselves & usually unsuccessful. I would be grateful for any advice anyone has.0
