Beware that you cannot order more than 9 in one order...
(That's assuming you want MORE than nine!)

Later: my local PC World has sold out, fortunately after completing my order!
(Interesting experience going in there - otherwise shunned with enthusiasm.)

    I DID :j

    But I went to STAPLES

    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5055451

Didn't exactly know until I got there that I did need 12 of them ...

... but given that it was the same price as buying 8 of them ...

    ... (4 free with their 3 for 2 offer) ...

... at that this made them less than £1.75 each

For the same overall total, OK 5 pence more :D, as buying just 7 from Currys/PC World

HOW could I turn down a full DOZEN of them ? :rotfl:

  • To stop myself buying things like this whenver I see one one (& later finding out it wasn't such a bargain), I keep a list of prices I've seen:

    32Gb £6.99
    64Gb 14.99
    128Gb £26.99

So although this is a good deal for an 8Gb drive, looking for a larger capacity will be better value.
  • Bargain! Been looking for a cheap usb stick for a while - thanks!
  • Than you for this post! I need to submit video assessments by usb stick and need 8gb of memory so these are perfect! Have just ordered the last one from my local store and will be picking up a couple more from nearby shops too! great find!
  • Although the first page says store collection only when I got top checkout it gave the option of free home delivery, guess which option I went for!

But the "32Gb" that I bought (4 × 8Gb) from STAPLES also cost just £6.99
    The "64Gb" (8×8Gb) accordingly cost £13.98

There are some 16GB USB2 memory sticks for £3.99 on Amazon and ebuyer (Toshiba TransMemory and Lexar Jumpdrive). I got one for £3.52 delivered using flubit, so £2.99 for 8GB isn't too great a deal unless it's USB3.

But transferring, say 60 GB of music for backup, you've got to cut it into 8 equal chunks and be on hand to swap the drives each time, a lot of time wasted?!?
With a 64 GB stick, insert, copy, sit and have a cuppa while it does it.

Can't disagree with that, no argument here.

8Gb drive no good for a 9Gb file

Only point I was querying was that "larger capacity will be better value"

Totally depends on the required use.

However lose a drive costing £1.75 and it's no big deal.
Lose one costing £25 and I'd be a tad upset.

There's also the "eggs in one basket" consideration
