Xercise4less Gym membership cancellation

im only 4 months into a 12 month contract with Xercise4less. Due to them engaging Vehicle Control Services (VCS) ANPR system and not informing members properly that they have to start recording their car registration everytime they go to the gym, i have collected 5 fines.
I sent off proof to VCS that i was in the Gym - they upheld but asked for £10 per ticket to cancel as a "good will gesture". I rejected their kind offer so they are now persueing me for £100 per ticket.
Anyway that aside - i complained to the gym who in all honestly could not be less interested and at evey turn tell me there is nothing they can do. though they engaged the company.

Out of principle i want to gt out of the contract and quit the gym but they are refusing to release me.

If i just cancel my DD....what can they do ?

To put it simply, they can trash your credit file.

They'll view it as a default on a contract and, most likely, sell the debt on to a collection agency.

Unless the way in which the car park is managed is considered a material aspect of the contract (and I suspect it isn't), then you'll have no grounds to cancel.
