Yes, apparently their digestive tracts weren't designed to deal with marmalade in such epic proportions and it has all gone horribly wrong.

Why do some people dislike others who would like to see housing more affordable?

Because it is the rest of us that have to pay for that affordable housing.

I think council housing is a good idea, but don't sell it off at a discount. Then it is available for the next generation.

Because they own property which will be reduced in value ?

Those who want the price to go down are the ones who don't own any yet ....

    Natural order of things ....

Not entirely true. I own a property outright, and would be more than happy to see it go down in value as a process of homes becoming more affordable. Nothing to do with self interest, just a simple realisation that more affordable housing is (much like more affordable food or energy) a socially good thing. It's no good me gaining paper wealth if the cost of that is more and more people unable to afford decent housing.

Where else should bears relieve themselves if not the woods?

Putting my ear to the ground I hear rumblings from afar.

Obviously you have no desire to downsize and retire any time soon, or don't have any dependants inheritance to think about. A tiny minority of home owners share your sentiment for falls in prices.

Wouldn't it be better if ones children could have less expensive housing now rather than waiting for their parents to die to get a lump sum when they are too old to enjoy it?

    Just a thought.

Just think how much spare cash most would have if you could house a family for £400 per month.
