Advice on dismissal during probation period

Hi,
I’ve been fired during my probation period. I’m not gonna get much into it but there was no reason to fire me... they made up a lot of crap.. but since I was on probation I believe I don’t have a leg to stand on , right?
anyway... I have only been 3 weeks there.. what I worry about is my cv... shall I put on my cv I’ve been working there? I don’t really want to say to a future employer at an interview I was fired while on probation ... will they find out I’ve been working there? I guess through my P45 unless I sign on first...

You have no protection against unfair dismissal as you have been employed for less than two years.
In fact, as you have been there less than a month you are not even entitled to any notice (unless you contract specifies otherwise).
Regarding the P45, you can always "lose" it and opt to fill in a P46 instead.0 -
I guess is not even worth to put on my cv this employment, right?..
Im gonna try to go back to the company I left for this failed job anyway0 -
yes, no need at all to put it on your CV. No-one will ever notice or know. And if they did you just say it was a short-term contract to cover holiday period - or something.
Don't worry about it, this sort of thing can happen to most of us at some time in a working life. They sound like a ropey company so you've probably had a narrow escape! Always look on the bright side...The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Yep, P46 it, as long as you have an otherwise fair employment history no one is going to notice or care about a 3 week gap.
A probationary period is there as a trial -the employer can see if you are going to make the grade and you can see if the job suits you and you fit in.
It doesn't matter what the employer says -they can simply state 'we don't believe you will make the grade' and dismiss at that point.
There's nothing wrong in that IMHO, just as an employer can't stop anyone resigning if they want, a 2 way street.
I've certainly had to let people go that with the best will in the world are great people who everyone got on with but even with help couldn't reach the average throughput of the rest of the team -that's life.
A business nowadays can be compassionate & caring but still can't take passengers, no business however is simply going to arbitrarily hire & fire for the sake of doing so -it costs a lot of money to employ people both in direct costs (that most employees understand) like wages and indirect costs (that many don't employees consider) like employer NI, taxes, office costs, HR etc etc etc.Unless specifically stated all posts by me are my own considered opinion.
If you don't like my opinion feel free to respond with your own.0
