  • Hello Elite, warning mini rant ahoy!

So for the last two weeks I've been working ridiculous hours for less than £80 per day. Don't get me wrong I've loved the work and it was exactly what I needed but the company are so stingy that anyway they could cut costs they grabbed at any opportunity, including making us sign contracts stating that were liable for any driving fines regardless of fault. I've accrued two fines, one for £65 and the other for £80, neither of which I've paid yet because I'm pretty much broke. I was supposed to get paid today and they casually threw in 'yeah that's not happening you might get paid tomorrow' to which I replied, 'if I don't pay one of the fines by tomorrow it will double to £130, are you going to pay it because I can't due to you not paying me?', they laughed and said 'nope, still your responsibility and if you don't pay it, Enterprise will fine you at least £50 on top of that'.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: sums up my mood right now!

I think they are horrid people, you are worth so much more and opportunities will open up for you x

Emma, congratulations on the Canada job.

I have now completed my report and sent it off.. TFFT

    Evening all.

I've been to one of the preview showings of "What we did on our holidays" tonight.

I can seriously recommend it - my friend and I were literally crying wth laughter. :rotfl: Life enhancing - get those sweet Sundays codes ready for when it goes on general release shortly. or see if there are still any freebies left where you live. :)
I saw this tonight & met a friend of Martins as I sat behind them & could see them looking at this site - hello 76rosie.

Arrrgggghhhhh so excited! I love dim sum especially. I will be eating all of the dim sum.

Can anyone recommend a decent laptop for my home office? I just need Microsoft Office and something reasonably fast. Keen to see what the elite reckon. The reckless part of me is thinking MacBook Air but they're at least £700 right? :o

Ebay, £3-400 or so. You pay silly money for new macs and this is MSE. BUt I bet they're a lot cheaper in Canada. In fact I'd take no luggage (except brown sauce which is North America's fatal missing ingredient) and buy luggage to fill with everything that's cheaper there. Which is probably everything.:)
