Upside, I had to use a lot of change for parking last week, so bought a lottery ticket to break up a note, just won £2.60! 60p up - I'll take it :D

    time for drastic measures.

can you apply for a temp increase on your credit on any of your credit cards or on your overdraft - I've done this before when I wanted to pay the final payment for a holiday so I didn't have to get the money out of savings for a few weeks. Or when 2 big credit card bills overlap and I was in danger of going over the limit.

Have you bought anything in the last 4 weeks that is still in its wrapping and it has its receipt - if so take it back for a refund - another thing I've done to make things balance.

Have you got a local Facebook group that you might be able to sell a few bits on - you might end up having to deliver but at least its instant cash.

go through last winters coats and bags - sometimes I wrap a note around a receipt or put an emergency tenner at the back of my travel pass and then forget its there until I am looking for money to pay the window cleaner.

Have you got any currency notes from past holidays that you can take to the post office to exchange for sterling.

The other risky thing Ive done before is to pay for a bill with a cheque knowing it would take a few days to process - sadly most places wont take cheques now and even when they do they process them much quicker.

  • Nope, literally at my limit :( I look forward to the day that I can secure regular work! (preferably where I can keep my clothes on ;))

Even using the card to pay and incurring a £12 over limit fee is cheaper then double, though some providers may report it to the CRAs, though some won't if you go back under your limit by next statement date.
What are the fines for and are they legally valid fines or PCNs ?
  • couldnt have put it better my self;)

Hello Elite, warning mini rant ahoy!

So for the last two weeks I've been working ridiculous hours for less than £80 per day. Don't get me wrong I've loved the work and it was exactly what I needed but the company are so stingy that anyway they could cut costs they grabbed at any opportunity, including making us sign contracts stating that were liable for any driving fines regardless of fault. I've accrued two fines, one for £65 and the other for £80, neither of which I've paid yet because I'm pretty much broke. I was supposed to get paid today and they casually threw in 'yeah that's not happening you might get paid tomorrow' to which I replied, 'if I don't pay one of the fines by tomorrow it will double to £130, are you going to pay it because I can't due to you not paying me?', they laughed and said 'nope, still your responsibility and if you don't pay it, Enterprise will fine you at least £50 on top of that'.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: sums up my mood right now!
thats terrible:mad::mad: hope you get paid sharpish
:j my glitchy body shop order has just arrived:j

    Thankyou op :)

Ive got the little free dog food - its only Asda or Morrisons.

also the Butchers cat food, three allowed and a free volvic touch of fruit - this all looks like the start of an Asda v Morribobs shop.

Ive alos got cauli, strawbs, broccoliand new pots - things likely to be found on a womble list :D

Thanks I don't always have success at that but I ll give it a go.

I never used to have much success just hitting the back button either

Instead I right click the back button and go back 2 pages at once. Look for a page called "Print Coupons" rather than "Printing" and see how it goes ;)

Loads of us seem to have been emailed 2x£10 off wys £40 in Waities but you can print off 4 unique vouchers

I've already cashed all mine in :money:

I've got the Waitrose vouchers, but never been in the store - can I use them elsewhere? :o
Life is a coin, you can spend it anyway you wish, but you can only spend it once.
Go as far as you can see, and when you get there you'll see further.

CoS is offering free dog food on my account (no code, just showed up)

1x150g Butchers choice lean & tasty made with chicken & turkey

Redeemable once at A or M until 28/9

Good to help you bump up to the minimum withdrawal threshold and a lot of stores have animal charity collection bins ;)

ETA: MSM shows it 50p A and N/A everywhere else (though obviously M sell it). It should be a good free filler on an A v T/S/W shop

Check Q accounts too as it showing there on mine, but not on my COS accounts.

They are very much legal fines from Westminster/ Chelsea & Kensington boroughs.

I've done that before. I don't want to increase my limit after reducing it by £750 earlier this year. I'm going to wait and see if I get paid tomorrow and then figure out a plan then. Thank you for the suggestions though :)
