How did you get such tiny amounts on the veg? Did you break bits off the veg because carrots, potatoes and broccoli are usually dearer than that! :T :rotfl:

I've seen someone on here who manages to get 0.00Kg of loose carrots appearing at £0.00 and counting as an item - I've wondered a few times how they manage that.
All bow down before the legend that is DeeDee74..:T

5 shops, total spend was £48.04 including fillers.

Apgs were for a total of £51.59, meaning that buying 8 x reeds + 14 x Lynx and fillers meant that I made a profit of £3.55 plus a whole load of stuff. Happy days..;)

Well done Savvy on that womble. If I'd spent 180 quid I'd be disappointed on such a small apg but as a womble it's brill.
I got my first 2 wombles last week. First one didn't have enough different items. :(
Second one gave me 45p. :rotfl: :D

They keep my store super tidy and tbh, it's apparently a small store as people don't do big shops, just top ups. So I'm not hopeful for improving that apg.

Well you're ready to go from that start there! My first ever womble was 40-something p as well. You must have a bigger store somewhere near you?

But the person who did that shopping was happy to pay £180, leave their receipt behind and not get anything back.

Smaller shops are generally the ones which give higher APGs ;)

Depends. Sometimes just one item can affect the whole shop - if for example they get some quite expensive item (£10) that's on 'half price' elsewhere and the rest either doesn't compare or is similar in price.

I've had a few smaller shops offering quite low APGs though. If they get a few items which are same price where the 10% is about 10p on them, but about half the shop is non-comparable, it ends up being just a 30p return:(. Say they got three comparable items £1.00 vs £1.00. Or four, with 2x £1.00vs £1.00 and 2 at 49p vs 49p (Broccoli/Tenderheart Cabbage - yes, sorry N.I, it's M being 'everyday price' and about the same as A).

The opposite can of course happen - and is with doubt more likely to do so, as people when shopping look at the price of the item they're buying and think if it is a good price. You have to get overspending, rather than buying, as many more people do, the £2 cheeses and the £1 items with big r'back signs on them. (Unless they are also £1, or below, elsewhere.) One carelessly-bought Cathedral and the T comp is ruined - it may otherwise be same price on all comparables throughout a small shop, and ready to be a 10%, and then a Cathedral £2.00 vs £5.00 and it is all lost! (I had that very thing the other day.)

But, yes, the more items they buy the more chance they have of offsetting. Plus buying the mbuys, when they appear on the comp., often makes A a lot cheaper. That often ruins long receipts (as well as small shops). Here, it was a booze shop that did it! Alcohol often..., again it was items with pounds difference between them, that ended up with T slightly cheaper overall - they lost a lot, probably on some of the mbuys, but the difference on the alcohol was so much they didn't lose it all and the overall spend, which compared, was quite a lot (£90+) so gave 10% of that!

    Morning everyone.

Good morning!:) And thanks for 'disrupting' my posts (I use the word 'disrupt' in the nicest sense;)) as I thought I might have six or seven:eek::eek: posts in a row again:eek:.

Thanks DeeDee74, the Air Wick worked on my shop! Shop was just before 11pm:eek:, but doubt it will continue to work unless you beat the morning update. Of course we also have new price collection (vs M) expected in the APG later.

I tried 2x S/P Sparkling Water and they compared 34p vs 18p (18p in red) so it does appear to have somehow had a bogo'f' in the system for M. (It wasn't a 'having to buy in fours' (i.e. 4 or 8, as maximum is 10).) This appears to support my original contention (ah, fall back on that then Savvy:p:rotfl:) that the water is a different 'glitch' to the other items that were showing strange mbuy pricing vs M. The sparkling water did the same as two specific own brand soft drinks did the price collection before but no longer do. And I suspect the water will correct once the new price collection is updated into the system, imminently!

I also had a 'big time glitching' plan on the Hartley's Ready to Eat Jelly. I noticed the Orange version is straight 25p on msm but the other flavours now have 45p/Any 5 for £2.00. It appeared that someone on one of my wombles managed to pay full price for the Orange version (45p each) though they did not hit the mbuy number. I was to have got 5, paying 5 for £2.00 but APG - this would only work instore - sees individual price you pay (45p each) as does not have mbuy on it in the system (is straight 25p on msm). That was the idea. I duly picked up five. Sadly, the first of the beggars scanned went through at 25p:(, so no mbuy, price is r'back 25p as per msm. It didn't work at all!! Anyway, shopping plans slightly changed, but I'm pleased that Air Wick Reed Diffusers worked on my shop - thanks DeeDee74!:T:T

Back here, same time next week, for something else we hope:D:D.

    Goodnight folks!
