Actually ended up using wallpaper to cover our kids' books, used to go out and pick a few samples at a time, could normally get enough to cover a book as a sample

I took DS to B&Q last week to pick out samples to cover his books with. He wanted to know why I was picking out so many different ones, when is told him he went off looking for a suitable one for each subject.
He did make the mistake of shouting
'mum, do you think this would be suitable for English or is this one better!'
right infront of an SA :eek::rotfl: the SA just smiled and said he used to do the same thing and pointed out a fab one for geography with a map of the UK. DS was very pleased because it was just what he was looking for.

If they said "SAE" you could debate whether they wanted a "stamped address envelope" or a "self addressed envelope"...but they specifically said "SELF addressed envelope" :cool:

No mention of a stamp whatsoever so I didn't bother.

Well that's me caught up.
Waiting on people from FB and freegle calling to pick stuff up so might just have to get a bit of work done while I wait.
Also need to move my tumble drier from below my upstairs smoke alarm, it's set it off twice this morning before I remembered the fish tank used to do the same before I changed them around . I think I might just have to move it to where the console table is under the landing window.
You wouldn't think I've been here for 2 years, I still have lots of boxes to sort through, and furniture to change about to get it liveable not been able to do much lifting for the past 6 months but feel up to it now so putting plans into action. Just glad school's back so DS doesn't get under my feet but do have to leave his room until last to give him time to decide what he wants to keep.

FC hope things look better for you two this morning, enjoy your holibobs I think the break is just what you need x

We had the reverse, DS1 got into the grammar school close by, but in the next county. It was too good a place to turn down. That meant that DS2 wouldn't get an automatic sibling place at the decent school we had lined up in our minds for both of them. But once we had seen the education that DS1 was getting, we were less enthusiastic about sending DS2 to the fairly decent local school.
