Thanks for the advice. Happ punter!

Having read a few posts complaining that there was little (if any) resolution and "happy endings" posted for people's cases, I thought I'd share my experience.

I had a run in with ParkingEye at a retail park and following the advice available in the "Newbies" thread. I had my template letter printed, stamped, addressed and ready to go.

I then read on and found it might save time and effort to go directly to the management of the retail park and plead my case, as it were.

After 5 minutes of playing Google detective, I'd got the phone number of the management company's rep and rang him up and explained the situation. That I'd spent what I consider to be a large sum of money at his establishment and been "rewarded" with a grossly inflated parking charge as a result.

He requested I submit everything in an email, along with copies of the PCN and the store receipts and 3 hours later I got a reply saying than the PCN had been overturned.

It may be a long shot, but at the end of the day the retailers want your money in thier till, rather than the PPC's coffers!

Thanks very much to the regulars on here for thier advice. It's really helped me out of a hole!

Good news. We say so often that complaining is often the easiest way to get the PCN cancelled.

A little leg work and a well worded telephone conversation and job done.

Do however make sure you have it on writing from Parking Eye as people are sometimes told the landowner will order cancellation, but don't always do so.

Probably the most powerful form of fightback, the complaint to the retailer/landowner/contract principal.

The more they have to deal with such complaints, the more they will realise the potential cost to their businesses (about which the PPC will have no empathy, as it directly threatens their own business model) and further come to realise they provide the very blood on which the parasites suck!
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Well done! Not such a long shot though to complain to the landowner or their agent:

I have added your case there among the retail park ones (you can see PE have their own post as there are so many complaints about them!).
