this is the first time that an anti-euro party has won seats in a German state parliament - which is big news in a country where support for the European Union is traditionally strong.

The whole European project is a huge waste of time and money.
By all means have trading concessions, by all means come together against a common threat, but you do not need a federalisation to achieve this end, this is the point missed by the lemmings.
Did we not stand up to the Iron curtain all along together with the US? Without a federal EU, independent nations would still present a united force militarily in the same way Australia backs the wests military efforts elsewhere.
Just listen to the federalists logic when they say things like EU enables cross border police co-operation. Just utterly daft thinking, we co-operated long ago just as other independent nations managed to do perfectly well. And even if we did loose such benefits, they are tiny compared to the huge cost of the lumbering federal project.0 -
The EUR debacle is hurting everyone, not just the southern fringe countries.
The EUR itself is massively overvalued...........quite why is anyone's guess.'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -

Collectively as a whole. Europe is still a net exporter with a balance of trade surplus. Questions hang over the ability to address the real problems. Like inflexible working practices, tax collection etc.0
