I took my oldest daughter to fun work on Satuday where I was charged entry for my son, a 1 year old who can't yet walk. So I was charged approx £4 for him to sit on my knee as he can't use any of the facilities! When I challenged them about this, they said its a new policy. Surely this can't be right?

I think a most of these places allow Under 1's for free but over 1's are chargeable as in theory they can use the baby area, I'd say they're looking at it from the view that whether you decide to use it or not isn't really their problem..... I do know Funtastic in Carryduff allow free for under 1's or (more importantly) Non-Walkers...... Funky Monkeys charge for over 1's I believe but have a reduced rate of £1 if accompanied by another full paying child.... I suppose it's just up to their own individual policies.... vote with your feet !!0
