Hope your first day at your new job goes well x
With the oil, don't let them sign you up to a monthly 'plan' if you can possibly help it. I always used to just get the tank filled and pay in full, after getting quotes each time, and playing them off against each other. It worked out much cheaper, but I appreciate not everyone is in a position to do this (we used to have oil heating in a previous property, and were by no means rich, we had to save up :rotfl: ). Companies do push hard to sign you up to direct debits but I preferred to keep control. Wish we could do the same with gas, which we have now!0 -
Thanks

Unfortunately, my start date for the job has been put back as they are still waiting on some more paperwork! Don't know when it will be either in this stage, hopefully any day now. Was all ready to go with that too. .
But in other news, I got the other job - which I am really pleased about. It's not a lot of hours, but will still be an extra £200 a month towards the debt. Should start that too within the next week
Anyway, so much for a cheap weekend..
We got the final bill through from our last energy supplier for our old house - £65. Spent £25 on petrol and £27 on food shopping. Also, spent £40 on some huge bags of dog food to last two months - I didn't put this on our SOA which I forgot about, but that's another £20 per month going out.
DawnW - Thanks, I agree, it's much better to be in control of prices. Hopefully next year we will be able to install the heating.0
