Trick to winning competitions?

Hi,

I've just started entering competitions - wondered whether there was any tricks to follow?

for example: is it better to sign up to the newletters / receive communications from them?
do you give them your real phone number?

any help is appreciated!

There is lots of good advice here, but no easy tricks to win.

You need to use a valid phone number as sometimes they will inform you of a win by phone ... if it's an invalid number they'll just give the prize to someone else.

I generally sign up to the newsletters although be prepared for hundreds of emails daily. As for your phone number you may want to buy a cheap handset and SIM to use solely for comping. You don't have to put credit on it but then you know if it rings there's a chance you may have won something.

There's no tricks to winning but the more you enter the more chance you have.

I have been comping since last December with probably 2-3 months break and had a good few small wins.

    Good luck.

What SIM do you have that you don't need to put credit on please ?
  • I wouldn't say there's any tricks other than enter as much as you can. Been comping since 2006 and won a lot of stuff. I am finding it harder to win though think more people are aware of comps now.

Happy Comping and best of luck

Set up a comping email address , this will keep your real life emails separate , and yes, a cheap "comping phone" is a great idea. I use my old mobile and top it up a couple of times a year. I do enter the cheap standard rate text comps on it too.
