Cheap cat 'toys'

i am sure we have all bought toys for the cat, only to find they play with the packaging or still play with things you don't want them to

i have just discovered that my cat loves me putting a stick under a blanket and wiggling it around underneath. she goes crazy for this!
i use the stick attached to one of her fishing toys.

also ping pong balls are a big hit as they rebound off hard surfaces.

one of my best cheap buys was a cat tunnel from morrisons [about £4] like this http://www.petplanet.co.uk/product.asp?dept_id=3352&pf_id=60999 she uses it to run in and out of when she is playing, making an obstacle course

has anyone else got any cheap, alternative cat toys/games?

My cat loves playing with pine cones. She throws them around and even drops them at my feet for me to throw and she then fetches them back.

99p laser pointer type thing from ebay....cat goes nuts, he gets his exercise chasing "the dot", we dont! :D

also he has a toy bumblebee which was his first 'toy' when we got him. He will sometimes play fetch with it (used to be all the time when he was a kitten) but now its usually brought into our bed during the night as a 'present'...nice

Ours loves the GameForCats App (free) which does a similar thing on the iPad :D
Another vote for pingpong balls, also kitchen roll tubes:)
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

mine does that with drinks bottle caps :) - I didn't teach him to fetch, he just started doing it with the caps.

My previous cat used to go mad for a torch spotlight, but my current one just ignores it, so havent tried a laser pointer. might find a 99p one though. all my cats games tend to have human participation, so having a sit down while she plays would be good!

Ours fetches hairbands and likes foil wrappers scrunched into balls. He also adores tunnels and has a few of them inside and out.

Our cat has loads of toys which he plays with from time to time... but his absolute favourite is chasing OH's feet under the duvet. OH just moves his legs around a bit and the cat goes mad trying to catch his feet. Keeps them both entertained for ages :)
