I'm terrible at applying eyeliner, you might as well hand a Sharpie to a toddler and they'd do a better job at getting it on in a straight line. However I had two tutorials with the assistant at the Benefit counter who then got me to apply it, and I finally got the hang of it. I prefer it to my pencil as it lasts for so long. It's just practise and doing it in small strokes. Worth going in and asking for a demonstration if you're finding it a nightmare to use.
