Are they possible.
We live overseas in rented accommodation. We are here for the short to medium term (2-3yrs). Property market here is too flaky and slow.
We own one property in the UK worth circa 450-500k without a mortgage having paid it off within a few years. Earnings are high with the potential to increase further if both if us work as the kids get older.
Self employed contractor with a yearly contract.
Considering an investment property hopefully below 250k threshold although would go higher (300k) if needed. Could get 50-60k deposit later this year.

How are we best going about things? Are there specialist brokers? Are rates likely to be much higher?0

Don't see any issue - your previous time will ensure your credit file will be linked, depending where you were, your previous history will similarly be pulled in, so it will be up to the firm you apply to whether you are a customer they feel is worth doing business with.
No point trying to second guess 'the system'. Just go for it.0 -
There are a number of 'issues', not least that the number of lenders that will simply reject such an application.
