Play station 3?

Can anyone tell me if a PS3 bought in the US will work in the UK.

My brother is looking to get one for his kids and I am off to the US at the weekend and knowing that things are generally cheaper over there I thought of buying one. However not much point if it won't work here.

It's going to output an NTSC video signal (as opposed to PAL) which may work as many TV's sold here support both standards.

The warranty will be invalid in the UK and the power supply may or may not be compatible with our 220-240 volt mains supply.

When your brother imports the consile, there will be charges for import duty and VAT which will wipe out any savings.

I wouldn't bother as Sony are certain to reduce the UK price to clear the embarrassing inventory of unsold consoles.
