CCJ and a mortgage?!?

Hi Guys,
I have had my credit report and after many years and payments I have now got left 2 defaults of £142 (offered f&f to clear this) and £533 (will try and clear with f&f soon)
I also have a ccj of £4000 for student uni fees which were meant to be covered by student loans however they withdrew funding after I left as I was repeating the 1st year for the 3rd time which wasn't allowed.
I have contacted the solicitors who have asked me to email them an offer of instalments.
Iv been thinking about a mortgage as im spending half my wage every month on a run down rented property where the landlord wont do a thing!
Firstly how much damage will the satisfied/settled defaults do?
Secondly am I likely to get a mortgage when I have an outstanding ccj?
I currently have no overdraft, no credit cards, no loans, no HP, I live off my wages and wages alone as my credit has been really bad since I was 18 and foolish!
Any help would be appreciated!

How old are the defaults?
Do you have a CCJ or are they applying for one?
When is the CCJ dated, if you have one.
The above will be on your credit file.:beer:0 -
The default I offered the f&f for is from 2009 and the other 2011, the ccj from 2012. x0

Should be able to get a mortgage with those defaults settled.
That CCJ may be an issue.
Try posting for advice on the mortgage board.

Thank you! Is it worth me using the deposit money to pay off the CCJ or will it still be bad as showing as satisfied or settled? x0

I would think it would need to be settled, but the mortgage board folks are better placed to advise.
