Random I know, Im going to Canda soon and just realised I dont actually own a suitcase. Any tips on what to buy?
Im a very pracical person, I hate buying something that has something 'missing' on it or that could be done better. Also likely to be flying lots of shorthaul over the next few years, so if theres a combo type thing out there too id be interested.
had a look at john lewis but I know NOTHING about suitcases!

I am also looking for 1
you can look into Argos not sure about the quality.
Suitcase is one thing you should see before buying unless you are getting it very cheap.
Try littlewoods etc as well.
Tesco has ran out of stock on all cheapest items
Please share your findings here.
I am sure you will keep in mind the restriction on size and or weight etc.
Buy a Set that will help u in saving money

As it happens I have bought a set today from Mr T's. Half price in the sale (in store) 6 piece luggage set reduced to 15.99 and then used a clubcard voucher and so got them for 10.99.
They look sturdy, hardwearing and smart - functional.0 -
I recently paid nearly £60 for an "unbreakable" feather-light case, which really looked the business.
I have just come back from holiday (using the case for the first time) and it has been badly smashed by the airline  so it seems that you may just as well buy cheap ones.
I've put a claim in but I'm not holding my breath - insurance companies have us over a barrell it seems and there's always a reason for them not to pay out. Apparently nothing which sticks out is covered by them eg: wheels, handles etc.
I am going to buy a huge, soft, holdall instead. I think (hope) that may prove to be more serviceable.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
Worth trying Matalan - we got a good set of Luggage for our Oz trip from them - very robust and reasonable price!
