Hair Dye - buying colour and developer separately to save money?

I buy the Wella (Kolestan) colour my hairdresser uses and mix it with rusk developer. Saved me a fortune over the years!
Wella is quite an expensive one but I have tried the rusk and really liked that too (that's why I still have the rusk developer). No matter how careful I was with the box ones, I always ended up with uncovered greys! Salon stuff has been the way for me and my hair is lovely because of it.
I am not sure about it being complicated to mix (maybe for different colours). I am a mid brown colour (with a natural hint of copper) and I just mix a brown colour with the correct developer in the parts stipulated on the box and off I go!
Sally's staff are really helpful too who will be able to tell you how to mix.0 -
I use naturtint and mix 3 colours myself. Very pleased with my shade.0
