Woolwich in the dark ages

Dear All
I am a new member - Hello.
Is anybody else frustrated with Woolwich being in the dark ages, when it comes to communicating information with the customer and also when trying to make overpayments?
I've had paperwork being lost through Royal Mail (a whole different story!) and they (woolwich) seem to be unable to email across the information.
Also when trying to make one-off overpayments - i have to pay at branch level with a cheque! Archaic or what?
Just wondering on whether other people have had a similar experience.
Thanks

We have had a Woolwich mortgage for several years and while their systems are not quite asup to date online as they could be, making payments is no problem at all via. Online banking -you just need your Woolwich account number and they can give you the bank account details to use with your online banking - we do this all the time, so I know there is no problem. Have not been in a branch or used a counter in the bank for years!0

Thanks for the info - I actually don't have an online account with either Woolwich nor Barclays as my current and future mortgage (wierdly with Woolwich), was done through a broker.
Guess will need to talk to them about that, next time I talk to them on the phone.
Did you find it hard to talk to them on the phone? They didn't seem to understand the concept of posting going missing?!? LOL0 -
We do bank with Barclays so can see our Woolwich details through online banking although this isn't essential in order to make payments into the mortgage - all you need is the bank account details and reference number (usually your Woolwich account number) and you then treat the overpayment just like any other online payment. You should be able to get the relevant bank details by writing to Woolwich and asking - i find it generally better all round to write to companies as they all seem rather obtuse on the phone..........once you have the bank details you can overpay as you wish within the terms of your mortgage agreement. I 've set up a standing order and it works well.0

Every woolwich mortgage comes with a barclays bank account. Most people never use it, but you will have one - unless your mortgage was set up years ago.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
