You could also consider changing where you live. Houses can be had for well under £60,000 in say Hull.
Well, yeah, but i'm not overly keen on uprooting my life and starting again in Hull.
Good point though, but applies more if you live in a high-priced part of the country. I live in Northamptonshire, which I moved to some years ago partly because of reasonable house prices, therefore less scope than if I was in Surrey perhaps.0 -
