markets

Are markets really cheaper??? If so what do you buy there?

Comments

  • We don't have any decent markets near us, but if we visit one, we usually find fruit and veg tends to be cheaper, fresh, and a wider variety of products.

Our local indoor market is quite expensive compared to the surrounding shops.

I love Leeds market as it's so cheap. You find the food is not as fresh but you can get much more fresh veg for the price you get in supermarkets. Perfect if you intend to eat in the next couple of days but not if you do a weekly shop. The meat by comparison is much better at the market, cheaper, they'll prepare it for you the way you want.
Farmer's markets though are more expensive than markets or supermarkets and you can get the majority of the things in your local supermarkets.

I just love saving money any way I can, it's my hobby. lol

I want to focus on food and groceries.

Food - mealplan, cook from scratch and buy from Aldi. Are markets really cheaper??? If so what do you buy there?

This weekend I bought decent loo roll 24's for £3 bargain!

I think I will be becoming friends with the market especially for their meat, fruit & veg, cleaning products ect.

I don't always go to the market but do use it for fruit and veg when I'm passing. Mangoes 3 for £1 at the moment, doughnut peaches 99p for a huge bowlful and Romaine lettuce 89p. Compared to my local supermarket, a big saving.

My friend recently got her new bedroom carpet and a new made to measure kitchen blind - both from market stalls. Excellent quality and really good service at a big saving too.
