Sainsburys Buy 6 save 5% stopped?

Hi All,

Does anyone know if sainsburys still have the buy 6 save 5% on wine offer. I have got some vuchers to use by today but cant seem to find it anywhere.. and I seem to recall a friend telling me they were stopping it.

Have had a look on the sainsburys website but its down at the moment.

Any ideas?

I think it has finished. I bought six bottles last week and there was no discount and there were no signs in the wine section either. Pity!

It doesnt get added on the website when buying 6 bottles of wine, maybe they stopped it as part of the ruling about alcohol pricing.

It stopped earlier this month. All to do with duty. Staff cannot get discount on spirits and liquors. Plus customers buying spirits or liquors they don't count towards any coupons like £6 off £40 - so the £40 is BEFORE spirits and liquors. Plus cannot get Nectar points - but can redeem them against spirits

Thanks for that. I was aware that they'd stopped the 5% off 6 bottles. I recall some carp about so that they could move the saving to making everything better value.


I didn't know about the lack of nectar points or excluded from using vouchers though. Seems odd as I've often had vouchers specifically for 'when you buy wine and spirits above £x' in the recent past.


Seems everything is designed to make things more difficult for the consumer.:(


I'm hardly going to give up drinking just because I don't get nectar points. Probably just buy it in a shop that's cheaper than Sainsbury's. What utter rubbish!!!

Actually in the past few weeks, Sainsburys have offering more wine under £5 and their wines have better offers.

Still can collect Nectar points on wine, beer, sherry, vermouth, alcopops, cider, sparkling wines and cans of cocktails like g&t.

As I stated the post above this one, the only alcoholic drinks you cannot get Nectar points on and don't count towards the £40 if you have a £6 off £40 coupon are spirits - vodka, gin etc and liquors - Tia Maria, Cointreau, Baileys etc.

I got that coupon and Fosters Gold 6 pack.
