Not using underground, what is the best way to travel from stratford to woolwich arsenal?
travelling from norfolk by coach, so thought we would get off at Stratford. someone told me DLR. How to get from Stratford drop off point to DLR? and i read they were unmanned so do we need to get a ticket beforehand?
Thanks in advance for any help or tips.

If it stops at the bus station then the DLR tube and rail stations are all one big complex. If it stops in a nearby street ask the coach driver to point you in the right direction
There will be machines at the station selling tickets - or you can use the ticket office at the Underground station next door
What ticket to buy depends on what other travel you are doing either that day or later in the trip. The cash fare to Woolwich Arsenal is £4.70. With an Oyster card it's £1.50/£1.60 depending on time of day. Travelcards for unlimited travel are also available in various guises.0 -
And depending on what time of day you may need to change at Canning town for a woolwich service. Id take the Jubilee(which isnt underground there) to CT as its a bit quicker and then only 1 escaltor to traverse too, if you have luggage"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

The DLR is not unmanned bit it is compulsory to buy before boarding.
Do you need to avoid LU altogether (why?) or avoid going underground?0 -
The bus/coach station is adjacent to the rail/tube/DLR stations. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Do the coaches drop off in the bus station?
If so it's easy, you literally walk into the station, the entrance is opposite the bus station and then turn left. The DLR platform is right next to the entrance. Just make sure you buy a ticket first.
Also be careful with the train. The DLR goes two ways, one to Woolwich Arsenal and also to Beckton. Make sure your train is going to the right stop. You might even need to change in Canning Town depending on the train.0 -
The coaches drop off in Broadway, maybe 5 minutes walk to the DLR station
(On the return journey they do pick up in the bus station)0
