HSBC Building Survey and Valuation Report

Has anyone had any experience using HSBC for both Building Survey and Valuation report?
The house I am looking to purchase is 113 years old so before I splash the cash I would want a full structural survey. The property is not a listed building so it is not a prerequisite of the mortgage.
Should I go with HSBC for the survey or should I get this done independently?
HSBC change £731 for survey and valuation, the quotes so far received from other surveyors are around the £750 mark, I would then still need to pay for a valuation via HSBC.
If you do have experience with using HSBC do they share the building report and do you get the opportunity to meet the surveyor at the property? #GateCrash

HSBC will contract out the job to a RICS Chartered Surveyor. The surveyor will act on behalf of both parties.
Surveyor is unlikely to want you there. As they could be held responsible for your safety and conduct.
Though will happily discuss matters with you post survey.0
