It dosnt say you need to be a member to enter ( just checked i logged out and it let me enter ok)
Then scroll down to the right you will see "RS Celebrate 70 years" click that. On the left side you will then see a link to the comps.
Comp 1 = i will get back to you on that !
Comp 2 = elsien spotted it had changed and posted answers on the previous thred, ive looked and they are correct :
1 - mineral
2 - wind speed
3- fabric laminated plastic
4 - capacitors
5 - microphone

Comp 1- OK im going with some form of radio on this one, in the 50's it would have been a MW Radio, and by looking at the ferrite aerial its looking that way. This is obviously some form of kit radio that you build yourself, they still do the kits today. You cant see the rest of the radio, which is a shame could be a crystal kit radio maybe.
answer = mw radio (build yourself kit one)
