Santander Telephone Mortgage Appointment

Options
Hi

I am scheduled to have my telephone appointment with Santander and was wondering what they will ask, as I have been advised it may take up to three hours!!

Ive read many horror stories, but can anyone let me know generally what they ask you as im starting to panic about a full scale grilling!

Thanks

Basically they need to be able to demonstrate that they have recomended to correct product for you.
Part of that is to confirm that you can afford it.

There's no trick questions. It's a fact gathering exercise.

Its far from a fact gathering exercise

You'll be interviewed by someone who is very unlikely to ever own a home never mind a mortgage and whilst you may get the mortgage it will be without the benefit of advice merely sold to you.

And in a few years time when something goes wrong we'll have another round of PPI, endowment miss-sold or something similar.

A culture that extended far beyond the remit of the banks. As wasn't just them that sold these highly profitable products. Plenty of unqualified people jumped on board the gravy trains at their peaks. Mortgage brokers were no exception.
