Are there alternative documents you can use for proof of address? All our utilities are managed online so whilst I can supply copy documents they aren't originals so to speak.

different companies interpret the rules in their own way, so some will accept printed statements or bills whereas others wont, best to check with the company you're dealing with.0 -
Photocard driving licence (if not used for ID)
Council tax bill
Mortgage statement
Bank statement
HMRC Tax Code notice.

Which lender? Some are more reasonable than others.
If you select your lender in the CML Lenders' Handbook and find the right section you can see exactly what they will and won't accept.
I feel your pain; with everything online I often struggle to provide acceptable documentation when applying for bank accounts etc... sometimes I simply can't meet the requirements.0 -
Many utility providers have pdf versions of the bill which can be printed and look exactly as the paper version would. These are normally acceptable.
