Valuation criteria query for remortgage?

Having the house valued in September as part of the remortgage, and am wondering whether I should rush through with painting the render at the back of the house to make it look more appealing. Anybody know if this is the sort of thing 'Valuers' take into consideration or will I be wasting my time?
