Sorry this is a bit long winded...
I'm 23, and last year I went to a debt management charity in order to help with my finances. At that time, I was around £11,300 in debt - £5000 to Lloyds on 3 products, £5500 to Nationwide on a loan & £800 to Egg Card.
I was put on a repayment arrangement, where the interest & other charegs were stopped on each of my creditors. I started making these payments in March 2006, and have made every payment.
In a couple of weeks I'll be in a position to make settlement offers to everyone (I'm selling my flat), so I went to all my creditors & found I owe more now than I did before!
Anyways, I contacted Nationwide who have supplied me a list showing all transactions. They have continued to charge me interest, however they have also passed my debt onto a recovery agency in March 2007 & I've not been informed!
I'm contacting Egg, who say it will cost £10 for copies of statements - however the last item showing on that account for charges & payments is Jan 2006! How can I make them give me copies because they never supplied the information to start with?
Lloyds, oh Lloyds - what fun.
Ok, here goes, I have a Current Account which is £300 in arrears. This was due to Lloyds making charges on my account when I went overdrawn, or they couldn't make a payment. Over a period of I think 4 months I was paying £300 a month just in their charges! I have since discovered this site, & written numerous letters in the past 3 months asking copies of statements. Non of which has warrented a response from Lloyds.
Also, a loan account, I don't have too much of a problem with this, though interest has been added. I'm awaiting a response on a letter to claim that back.
Now the fun part... Lloyds Credit Card. All my creditors were sent my financial statement by my charity. All had agreed to the proposals, barring the Credit Card. I was getting calls every 3 days demanding money. The financial statement was sent to them 7 seperate times, each time they denied receiving it. I finally had enough when I checked my statements & found I was being charged interest & late payment fees! I wrote a letter asking it to be stopped & repaid. No response. I made numerous phone calls, no joy at all - always - 'Oh you need this number' - call that number 'Oh no you don't want us you want this number' which is the first number!
Eventually I went to the financial ombudsman & complained. I received my statement the other day & found that interest & late payment charge had not been applied. I called & asked why. My financial statement had appeared. I asked them why they hadn't contacted me to discuss & where my financial statement appeared from. They told me a letter had been sent last Thursday (still not got it!) and they couldn't answer my querey on where my financial statement had been hiding!
Can anyone suggest a way to claim all the interest back? And charges? And make a major complaint against Lloyds Credit Card?
Lloyds have not responded to a single letter - one was even sent in their internal mail. So I can't see the point in writing them another.

bumping this up for the OP because my head hurts too much to make a sensible post and I am sure someone has some good advice!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0

Thanks for the bump up hypno06.
Here is what I owed when I took out the repayment arrangement & what my creditors say I owe now.
Nationwide: Owed £4922.42, currently owe £5596.23, paid since Mar 06: £1147.90
Egg: Owed £702 (less than I thought!) currently owe £762, paid since Mar 06: £163.91
Lloyds Overdraft: Owed £314.01, currently owe £314.27, paid since Mar 06: £74.78
Lloyds Loan: Owed £2458.58, currently owe £2943.17, paid since Mar 06: £573.38
Lloyds Credit Card: Owed £2727.08, currently owe £3402.55, paid since Mar 06: £631.23.
Any idea's what I can say to the creditors given they're now saying I owe more? & what should I do about Lloyds, given they don't like to respond & I have run up a massive phone bill?Wins 2012: Nike 20XI Golf Balls & Cap, VIP Cinema Tickets, 4oD Film Rentalx2, Dalepak vouchers (1st twitter win :j) Cinema Tickets x4, T-Shirt, Gardening surprise

Did you do a DMP through an organisation. Was this a paid for organisation or a charity? Is there any statement from them to show your schedule of repayment that you can compare things with?Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I'd talk to the debt management charity you originally sorted out your DMP with.
Wouldn't they have copies of the arrangements with your creditors? If you can prove that you have an agreement to freeze interest and they subsequently haven't honoured it, you may be of firmer ground.
Hope this helps0 -
Cheers for your replies.
I went with a charity (why pay someone else to sort my debts?). They haven't been very forthcoming with info recently though. But I'll ask for copies of responses from the creditors. See what they say.
I have an online account with the charity I use to show how much was paid to which creditor & when - which I hope is going to prove useful.Wins 2012: Nike 20XI Golf Balls & Cap, VIP Cinema Tickets, 4oD Film Rentalx2, Dalepak vouchers (1st twitter win :j) Cinema Tickets x4, T-Shirt, Gardening surprise
