Hello everyone. Welcome to the Weekly Spend Challenge. This challenge is open to anybody, no matter what financial place they are in. Everyone is welcome here.
On this thread please post an amount of money you wish to stay below within the week (Sunday to end of working day on Friday). This can be pennies or thousands it depends on the individual. Then next Saturday report back and pledge for the following week. The challenge runs from Sunday to Friday so we don't include Saturdays but feel free to change the rules to suit you and include Saturdays or start on a different day.
Feel free to update this thread with daily spends if that keeps you on track. We colour code the results as below:
Green - within budget
Red - over budget
Purple - zero spend
Orange - made money over the week
This is a little bit of fun but for many it highlights the fact that maybe that magazine/chocolate bar isn't needed. Hopefully your spending habits can be changed forever.
Moozie was the founder of this challenge and here is a quote taken from her:

Hello and thank you for the new thread b-h!
I am in again for this week with another £20 (this is only for non budgeted spends seeing as I am a newbie) Ideally I don't want to be spending anything more than I have budgeted but being a badly impulsive shopper I want to at least try to keep the impulse spends down (and it worked last week!)
So yes £20 this week for me please and I already had a NSD yesterday
Best to all!

!
Sorry for being away for a few dayshave updated the first post with your pledges now though
I've had a few impulsive days and can't really remember the details of what I've spent other than it's been on food and drinks for lunchtime. I've spent £7.00 in total, leaving me with £8.00 at the mo.PAYDBX 2019 - #166 - £395 / £5,6830 -
Good morning challengers!
2 NSD's so far and have spent £1.49 of my £20 personal budget (cherry crumble from Lidl - cherries = another guilty pleasure and added to this thread as it was and impulse buy and also wasn't budgeted for in my grocery budget.)
Hope every one is doing well and resisting temptation!

I didn't know this challenge was still running! I'd like to join if I can for the rest of the week and set a budget of £30 for all non-grocery spends.
I've spent 45p so far today (bottle of water)
Normally my budget would be a lot smaller, but I've got a hen night to go to on Saturday :eek:0 -
same moomin .... i finally found it lol
i would also like to join for the rest of this week. and would like to pledge £30
we are not here next week from monday so will join you all again the week after
my budget will go monday to monday each week if thats ok
any chance a link cud be placed at the end of each week for the new thread to make it easier to find ... cheeky i know im sorry200 weeks £25,000.00 / £7000 -
Yesterday I spent £2.45 in total - that bottle of water and a £2 sponsorship for someone at work. I would rather pay in advance than later in the month when funds might be tighter! (Yesterday was payday)
Today I will be paying for dinner out - Nando's so it should be under £15.
£2.45/£300 -
Morning all!
After I finally got comfortable living within the budgets I had set for myself I got hit by the fact I hadn't included DS's financials at school...so much so I have used £10 of my personal allowance to cover it until I get the budget set up (blessedly we are at the end of the month and new budget term starts on 1st Sept)
So additional £10 spend for this week.
Hope everyone is well!
