That is unfortunately the trouble with the NHS checks, including smears. They tell the patient there might be something wrong (worrying the hell out of them), and then make the patient wait anxiously for weeks for the results.

If I wanted health screening I would get mine done privately.

I hope it turns out to be nothing sinister, OP. For what it's worth I would think if it were serious they'd have been in touch by now.

My smear test result was back in only a few days. I was impressed at the speed.
:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.

x2 mammograms then..x2 biopsies , then an operation last year that , thankfully that gave the all clear.
It's a really tough time to go through .That first letter saying they had found something after the first mammogram made me feel physically sick..
after the second biopsy was inconclusive and they decided to operate I was climbing the walls, then I decided that I would take one day at a time as there was no way I could change the outcome , so just decided I would deal with things once I knew the score..
    You can't fight the unknown
Just be there for her , that's what she needs
I really feel for you both and I truly hope your wife gets the all clear
    xx

Pleased to say that my wifes result was NEGATIVE for Cancer , they were fatty lumps ish .
Thanks for all the best wishes , it was the worst time for us , her Dad died from Cancer and our Best man died on our 25th Wedding Anniversary last year , so we are a very happy couple .
Also Going on holiday in 2 weeks so thought that might have to be cancelled .
On arrival at the hospital my wife was offered two unexpired tickets for the car park too , never happened before , so an omen perhaps .

    Thanks once again
